OH WOW! Look over there! That is a sawfish!

Sawfish, sometimes called sawsharks, can be found in southern Australia, from southern New South Whales to mid-western Australia. Females grow to about 5 feet in length, while the males grow to a little over 4 feet.

As you learned earlier in the shark classroom, the "saw" on this fish is used as a weapon when it attacks it's prey!

Even though he looks fierce, we have nothing to worry about because the sawfish is a shy bottom dweller.

As the sawfish swims away we will swim on in the other direction and see whats over there behind that reef...
